At 09:45 hours the Somerset Township Fire Group was dispatched to Ames Road for a smell of something burning in a residence and smoke detector activation. Chief 38 (C.Pysh) along with Engine 38-2 arrived on scene to find a one story residential structure with nothing showing from the exterior. The crew investigated and found that the detector had a faulty batter and no odor in the residence. All units returned in service without incident.
